Traveling by bus can cost you Rs 300-2000 ($4-28) which takes up to 4-5 hrs. Sitting non-Ac buses are the cheap and Sleeper luxury Ac buses are expensive. You can book these buses online as there are many bus operators works online. Only Redbus is recommended as they are the most trusted by customers. Traveling by train from Delhi-Agra, Agra-Jaipur, or Jaipur-Delhi, it’s very comfortable if you can arrange a train ticket. It takes up to 2-3 hrs from Delhi to Agra and approximately the same for the other two cities. There is 2 option in Indian trains i.e. AC and non-AC coaches. AC coach has 3 categories out of which foreigners are allowed to book to 1st and 2nd class. These are the most expensive available ranging from Rs 750-1500($ 10-25).

You won’t be able to book a train ticket if you don’t have an Indian mobile number. Therefore, first, you need an Indian mobile no. and second, there are 100’s agents in Delhi or your hotels/hostels can also arrange train tickets for you but that won’t be pocket-friendly.

The train ticket can cost Rs 800-1300 ($12-20) plus agent charges 20-40% for a single trip. Also, I would recommend the Trainman website/app for searching for travel by train in India. This website will provide you all the information about available trains including ticket cost as well.

These places are located very near to each other. However, getting a train ticket sometimes can be difficult due to the unavailability of tickets and also this is a very busy route. But also, if you are a foreigner then, you are not allowed to travel on a train other than 1st and 2nd class coach as mentioned before.

This loop is approximately 750 km(466 miles) long connecting Delhi-Agra-Jaipur-Delhi.

  1. Delhi to Agra is approximately 270 km (168 mi miles) distance by road and 180 km (110 miles (ca. 177 km)) by train.
  2. Agra to Jaipur is approximately 240 km(150 miles) distance by road and 240km (150 miles) by train.
  3. Jaipur to Delhi is approximately 270km (170 miles) distance by road and 290km (180 miles) by train.

You will spend 3 days covering these cites. Traveling on a budget requires a minimum of 10 days. As you may have to wait due to the busy route, for trains/buses. Also, you need to rest because budget traveling can be tiring. However, you can cover these places in 5 days. If money is not a concern then, Airplane(Air travel) or Private Taxi can save you time and trouble altogether.

The best time to do the golden triangle India?

In winters, temperature range from 2-25 degree Celsius and 35-47 degree Celsius in summer. From September to the end of February is the main season and most comfortable to trip to these places. Because wintertime begins from SEP and remains till FEB. However, the majority of tourists travel during this time which makes it expensive as well as crowded.
